Over the weekend the story came out that ‘Two and a Half Men’ star, Charlie Sheen was in rehab. That’s since proven to be a CBS-sponsored smoke-screen, but Charlie’s family are now planning legal moves to rescue their son.
Charlie’s parents, Emmy winner Martin Sheen and his wife of 49-years, Janet Templeton are said to be discussing asking a court for a conservatorship order for Charlie, like the one Britney Spears has with her father.
“Charlie looks awful,” a source tells Radar. ”He’s very depressed and feels like the world’s going against him. Martin and Janet know it’s unlikely their petition would be granted, but they’re trying to do whatever’s possible to save his life.”
Were a Judge to agree, a conversationship would give Charlie’s parents and family almost complete control over all of his personal affairs – and his enormous estate.
The recent parties in Vegas caused the folks some concern, but their biggest worry is Chuck’s overall health;
“Charlie’s coughing a lot, and he doesn’t seem to care what he’s doing to his body,” says the snitch. “He truly thinks he’s invincible and can do as many drugs as possible, with no ramifications.”
Unconfirmed reports say the 45-year old actor is refusing all suggestions of rehab and has now withdrawn to his Los Angeles mansion, claiming he’ll do rehab at home.
“Martin’s aware that Charlie isn’t rehabbing at home,” the spy shares. “He hasn’t surrendered to sobriety, and until that happens this cycle won’t end. He’s a 45-year old man and no one can force him to go. That’s why his parents are exploring what legal options they have.”
There are two likely outcomes to this – Either Charlie gets clean and his career then recovers, or this spiral continues until we’re faced with writing the premature obituary of a man who could have been saved.
