Rollingstones News : Stones deny Watts has quit band

A spokesperson for the Rolling Stones has denied that drummer Charlie Watts has quit the band.

Quoting an inside source, a report from an Australian music website (www.undercover.com.au) claimed that Watts, who has often been reluctant to spend long periods away from his family with the band, would never record or tour with the band again. It went on to claim and that Watts was to be replaced by Charlie Drayton, a drummer who had played on guitarist Keith Richards' solo projects.The report sparked speculation and panic among Stones fans online.Spokesperson Fran Watts said: "Contrary to a fabricated story that ran this morning on a small music web site in Australia, drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones."
