The pair started rumors last month when they got rather close at the ‘MTV Music Awards,’ which Russell was hosting. They were then spied locking lips – many times – at Lady Gaga’s after-show party, and it now seems they flew off for a long break in Thailand – alone.
“When they were in New York for the awards Russell got his chance to charm her,” a close friend of Katy’s told Pop Crunch. “She knows his reputation but couldn’t resist – especially when he sent her a love poem.”
Russell, 34, had asked for one back, so Katy sent him a shot of her boobs, with the word ‘Poem’ written across them. This appealed to his famously juvenile sense of humor and he invited Katy to Thailand to get more acquainted.
Friends have repeatedly warned the 24-year old singer about Brand’s lack of commitment, but she does not seem to care. “Katy just thinks Russell is charming so she wants to give this a go.” says one friend. “She thinks he’s hilarious and incredibly sexy.”
