Rihanna's Lawyers said she would be subpoenaed to testify as a witness for the prosecution in a preliminary hearing on felony charges against the singer Chris Brown. In March Mr. Brown was charged with assault likely to cause bodily injury and making criminal threats after an incident on Feb. 8 when he fought with Rihanna in his car. In April Mr. Brown pleaded not guilty to the charges. The hearing, scheduled for June 22 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, will focus on whether there is enough evidence to continue the case against Mr. Brown. On Thursday a judge rejected a motion by Rihanna’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, to receive police and investigative records related to the case and a police photograph, believed to be of Rihanna, leaked to the news media.
