Anyone catch the final episode of The Amazing Race last night?

Congratulation to San Diego couple and volleyballers Meghan Rickey and her boyfriend, Cheyne Whitney, who walked away with the $1 million on the 15th edition of CBS’ hit reality game show, The Amazing Race. To me they deserved it. Meghan and Cheyne dominated in many challenges, and won a majority of the legs, leading up to the final.
I didn’t catch every episode of the show this season but I had formed an unfavorable opinion of the other two finalist couples.  I really didn’t like bickering brothers Dan and Sam McMillen, who’s background story line is that they recently revealed to each other that they’re gay. They really were a good racing team but besides the constant yelling at each other, they ran what I thought was a dirty race so I was glad under the circumstances that they came in second place. Ericka Dunlap, former Miss America 2004, and her husband, Brian Kleinschmidt, were third runner-up.   I was really bummed out that, popular Harlem Globetrotters team of Flight Time and Big Easy failed to unscramble five letters to spell “Franz,” last week to allow Erika and Brian into the finals.  Erika’s meltdowns and tantrums were pretty unbelievable and they were sparred elimination a couple times by sheer luck.  But the very patient Brian and Erika broke out in front last night, partly thanks to a clever cab driver. But the former Miss America nearly totally lost it in a team bungee jumping task, and they never quite recovered. Although with some poor counting by Dan and Sam, and Meghan and Cheyne failing to follow the clue to get to the Monte Carlo hotel, they really had a second chance.  Once they arrived Cheney and Meghan managed to beat the other two couples by working together the best, allowing them to be the quickest to count out $1 million worth of chips at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.  A couple things I miss in these races is ‘Yields,’ which I guess have not been present in since Season 12?  The other is letting the couples do most of the driving themselves.  There was a bit more of that this year, but I hate to see a race decided by a good or bad taxi driver.
