The 35-year old Oscar-winner split with her boyfriend, Stuart Townsend in January after a remarkable nine years together. Today we hear she’s now dating the actor and model, Eric Thal (photo right).
“The two have a lot in common,” a friend told the Life & Styles Magazine. “He’s a farmer and grows all his own vegetables, and Charlize grew up on a farm in South Africa.”
Ten years older than Charlize, Eric is a native of Niskayuna, New York who entered college to study engineering but quit after a year to do acting instead. He began as a magician, then got his big break in 1992 from Sidney Lumet and went on to co-star with Will Smith in 1993’s ‘Six Degrees of Separation.’
And he’s done six more films and ‘Law & Order’ since then.
And the man must be a catch – Charlize dated ‘Boston Legal’ star, Craig Bierko and Third Eye Blind’s lead singer Stephan Jenkins before dating Townsend. And she’s supposedly dated Keanu Reeves and Ryan Gosling since the split…So she’s picky.
But will they be successful? Well, the signs are already there – Those close to the new pair say they often escape the shallow company of actors and share long-weekends at Eric’s farm in upstate New York for romantic encounters.
Reps for the new couple are not saying a word, but we’ll update you when their connection gets formal…
