Michael Douglas Finishing Cancer Treatment Up This Week

Michael Douglas  While Michael Douglas continues his battle against throat cancer the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived.  His grueling eight-week chemotherapy and radiation treatment program is about to come to an end, according to People. The Oscar-winning actor, 66, has one treatment left this week and “no further treatments are scheduled,” says his publicist and friend Allen Burry.
His recovery will take another six weeks and then Douglas will have periodic check-ups. “He’s really happy about it ending,” says Burry.
Burry said the treatments can make swallowing painful and eating difficult and that Douglas “was determined not to have a feeding tube, and he didn’t have to have one.”
Confirming this news, Douglas was spotted walking his 7-year-old daughter Carys to school on Tuesday, and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones told reporters including RadarOnline: “He’s just finishing up his treatment. He’s holding up very, very well and everyone could not be happier with the progress. He’s doing fine thanks. He’s strong and the doctors are so happy and he’s just about to complete – what anyone who’s gone through it knows – a pretty grueling eight weeks.”
