Justin Bieber pocketed four prizes during Sunday night’s American Music Awards, capping the evening off with a win for Favorite Artist of the Year. The Canadian teen idol also won statuettes for favorite pop album, breakthrough artist and favorite male pop artist. Justin is the youngest artist to ever win artist of the year. Bieber beat out Eminem and Usher, his mentor and biggest champion, for the top prize. Usher, who signed the teen in 2008, received two awards, including favorite male R&B performance. Other big winners included Taylor Swift, and Rihanna. Unlike other music accolades such as the Grammys, the American Music Awards are determined by sales data and radio airplay.
