Creed is back, and the pain from that statement aside, they have changed their image from the pontificating D-bags from the 90’s.
Scott Stapp was interviewed for the new album, ‘Full Circle’, by Spin Magazine. Already, he has been under fire for some of his responses (deja vu?)
When asked about the 1999 sex tape showing himself and Kid Rock getting blow jobs from strippers on Kid’s tour bus, he said that oral sex isn’t real sex, so it doesn’t count.
“Well, there’s no sex on the sex tape. For it to get characterized that way, I mean, that kind of sucks.
“What sucks about that is Bob — Kid Rock — and I were friends. He’d been over to my house and we jammed and hung out. We were in Tampa playing with Metallica, and I walked into his trailer and there were some strippers. It’s a time in his life and a time in my life that we’d like to put behind us and not publicize because we have children now, and they’re in school, and their friends read. I know he was pretty pissed off at me when that came out.”
OK, now, I don’t actually want to bash the guy, not really. His general ass hatery actually seemed to be at a minimum in this interview, and I was dully impressed by his ability to speak without me wanting to claw my living room walls in rage.
But, come on, Scott. You always talk about it being a bad time in your life, expecting the world to accept your regret, and to give you a clean bill to move forward. Then, you reject any responsibility.
It looks like you still need to watch your words. Otherwise this time around you will come ‘Full Circle’ into the same old, same old.
