Barbara Walters will do special interview with Oprah Winfrey before fascinating people special
Aside from moderating the borderline bun-fight that is ‘The View’ Barbara Walters is loved by millions for making celebrities talk openly on camera. And on December 9th we’re promised a feast; First will be Oprah, then the year’s most fascinating celebs.
With Oprah planning to close her NBC show after 25-years to launch the ‘OWN’ network, she will now sit down with the 81-year old diva of discourse and review the past quarter-century, covering both her personal life and her work.
The two women have known each other since Oprah first captured the public’s attention in 1986, and Barbara has interviewed her several times since – at some major points in her life. This time they will chat at Oprah’s home, and visit Harpo Studios where her talk show is produced.
We’re even promised highlights from the show’s past, plus exclusive previews of upcoming programs on OWN.
Following that will be an hour-long special in which Barbara will review “Some of the year’s most prominent names in entertainment, sports, politics, and pop culture,” according to ABC’s press release
Her annual review of the year’s best-known names debuted in 1992, and after 18 unbroken years it still scores some of the highest ratings of any ABC show. And given Barbara’s devoted fan-base, this year is unlikely to change.
