Source-HMGIn a casting decision that could raise some eyebrows it’s being reported that porn star Jenna Jameson is in talks to take over a lead role in the Broadway rock musical, “Rock of Ages.”
The 36-year old adult actress is in talks to step into the role of ‘Justice,’ who owns a strip club used as a major scene in the show.
“I’m in talks with the producers and I’m praying I get the role,” she told the Post. “We’re talking about a run that would be up to three months, and it could start very soon. I think I’m perfect for the role, and I’m really looking forward to becoming a New Yorker.”
Opened on Broadway in April last year, ‘Rock of Ages’ is based on classic rock hits – especially by the strange ‘Glam Metal’ bands of the ’80’s. Sharp dialog and humor are mixed with songs from Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison and others. It’s been nominated for five Tony’s but so far hasn’t won.
“The producers were surprised, but Jenna has a good voice,” a show insider told the scribes. “And while she’s famous for her movies, she can act. This may be a shock to some fans, but the show’s always trying to push the boundaries.”
And landing the part would be a nice boost for Jenna – In April she and her boyfriend, UFC cage-fighter Tito Ortiz had a serious meltdown, with accusations of domestic violence and prescription-drug abuse being traded like bullets. But she dropped the charges and Tito dropped the drug claims, so now we’re all peachy…Perhaps.
A rep for the show, Patrick Confrey has since confirmed that the producers are talking to Jenna, but he wouldn’t say any more at the time. The man clearly knows the media value of silence.
The show is already a hot ticket and with this news it’s sure to attract a whole new batch of fans, so they’ll need to make a decision soon. We’ll advise you when updates arrive…
