Miley Cyrus exits Hannah Montana for new film career

 Since achieving almost overnight fame as Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus has grown up – a lot. But now Hannah is nearing its end and some folk are concerned where its star will go next.
After three remarkably popular seasons, Miley’s role as the Disney-based diva will start shooting its farewell fourth season on January 18, and wrap production forever by June. Season three’s cryptic finale, “Is Miley Saying Goodbye?”  debuts in March, and those who work on the show see several points where it mirrors her life;
“It’s one of the things her character has been wrestling with for months,” Disney Channel exec, Andy Bonnett told Us magazine. “Whether to continue being Hannah, or just be a regular girl.”
And Miley has given her fans cause for doubt; Rumors emerged in September [probably started by Disney] that she was trying to escape the show early by being fired, But Miley soon put people straight;
Miley Cyrus attends the premiere of 'Hannah Montana“I’m fully committed to Hannah,” she told reporters. “It’s what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach so many people.”
Following the golden rule among actors that one should always leave an audience wanting more, the now 17-year old Cyrus is bidding farewell to Hannah with the show still drawing 5-million viewers a week. But some of her recent choices for external projects have been less than successful – except in gaining cheap press;
In the last eighteen months she’s posed half-naked for Vanity Fair, appeared at the Teen Choice Awards with her own stripper pole, got an ugly tattoo, and made so many deliberately ‘provocative’ remarks, people thought she was possessed by Madonna.
One teen site even named her, ‘Worst Celebrity Influence of 2009′ – beating both Britney Spears and Kanye West.
But the girl still has a shot at redemption – The romantic comedy ‘The Last Song’ in which she co-stars with Liam Hemsworth – whose alleged romance has fueled countless ‘leaks’ – will debut in April; She also has a cameo part in ‘Sex and the City II,’ which bows on May 28th. One blink and you’ll miss her, but Miley’s impressed;
“It’s the best work I’ve ever done,” she says of her fleeting appearance in the upcoming flick.
Miley has also said she considers film work ‘my main passion.’ So that’s where she’ll probably go next. The question is, will her fans choose to follow?
Season four of ‘Montana’ airs in late Spring, and runs throughout 2010. With that and the movies, by the fall you’ll all either be sick of her name, or still deeply addicted – and that’s when her fate will be clear…
