Angelina Jolie and George Clooney dispel Monroe film rumors

 George Clooney - Angelina Jolie The world of celebrity is riddled with hype, and in one of the more shameful examples of self-serving rumor it’s now been confirmed that neither Angelina Jolie nor George Clooney will be starring in a movie about Marilyn Monroe.
The claims were made by British author Andrew O’Hagan, while debuting his new book on the late actress at the Edinburgh  Book Festival which opened on Saturday.
But reps for both actors have torn these self-serving claims into shreds.
A rep for George has dismissed all claims of his client’s involvement as ‘totally fabricated’. And Angie’s people also tore holes in the story;
“Angelina is NOT attached to this project,” was the official response.
Angie, 35, also made it clear she has no role in the book’s adaptation. But speaking to reporters on Monday at the London premiere of her new movie ‘Salt.’ she took the claims in good humor;
“This is a new rumor,” she mused.  “It sounds very nice – I just haven’t got the phone call yet. You guys will probably know before I do.”
If you have a yen to see Angelina on film, Salt opened on July 23. And George can next be seen as an assassin in ‘The American,’ which opens on September 1st.
As for Mr. O’Hagan, it’s best left unsaid…
