Mutli-talented entertainer Dr. Douglas “Doogie” Howser really known as Neil Patrick Harris who has a longtime gay partner, is about to become a father to twins.E! Online reports that Harris and his chef partner of six years David Burtka will welcome the two new additions to their family in October, after visiting a surrogacy agency last year.
Once the news was broken, The Harold & Kumar actor later confirmed that the pair will become parents in a message on his Twitter page, saying: “So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall,” Harris revealed on Twitter. “We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…”
The couple are set to celebrate with a baby shower ahead of their “beautiful” surrogate’s due date.
Harris who recently picked up three Emmy award nominations, including ones for his roles in How I Met Your Mother and Glee, will will also be hosting the ceremony, which takes place on August 29.
