With our collective scars from the whole saga with Chris Brown now mercifully fading, it may be mixed blessings to hear that Rihanna has found a new man – She’s reportedly engaged to the LA Dodgers’ Matt Kemp.
“Matt surprised her last week when he asked for her hand in marriage,” says a spy. “She said yes, but also made it clear this may be too soon and a long engagement should follow.”
Neither the 22-year old singer, nor 25-year old Matt, whose his fans have nicknamed him ‘The Bison’ have confirmed their alleged new link, but never one to miss a chance to let the press buff her ego, Rihanna’s made it clear the stories are true;
First, she flew to Arizona from Berlin to meet Matt’s family last month, then attended his charity ball – ‘Ante Up for Autism,’ on March 6th, which is a cause very close to Matt’s heart as his brother’s autistic.
“Matt was happy she came,” the source told s2s. “It was a great show of support.”
The fundraiser featured Vegas-style gaming and cocktails, two well-stocked auctions, and dinner and dancing. They raised $170,000, but despite Rihanna’s well-leaked involvement only 150 people showed up.She then turned up again at the Dodgers’ training camp a week later – just in time to ‘endure’ all the media there.
Next comes the engagement. I can see it all now – 12-months or more of ‘We broke up!…No, we didn’t…Well, we might have??…followed by a sickeningly predictable and entirely press-focused, ‘We’re back together!’
Then wash, rinse and repeat until even her best fans are ready to climb out on a ledge.
