While vacationing in Europe, American Pie star, Jason Biggs had a too-close encounter with a very odd fan. While touring the British colony of Gibraltar, a small, crowded island off the south coast of Spain, the 31-year old Actor and his ‘Pie’ co-star Eddie Thomas met a small group of apes, and Jason was soon in their sights, “Jason and Eddie went on the trip to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of ‘Pie,’” a source told reporters. “They were hiking in the woods when this monkey suddenly jumped out of a tree and tried to bite Jason’s face.” More than 200 of the apes, members of a breed called the ‘Barbary Macaque’ run wild on the island and stiff jail sentences await those who might do them harm. Hundreds of tourists visit the apes every day and clear signs are posted all over the island, warning of the risks of getting too close. But it seems some of these primates can’t read. The UK’s Daily Telegraph reports that Jason’s companions managed to get the furry fan off his head, but Jason, husband of ‘Angel’ star, Jenny Mollen, was so shaken by the encounter he decided to end his trip early and return to the States.
