David Copperfield has being accused of sexual assault by a Seattle model who claims that the multi-millionaire magician threatened her on his private island on the Bahamas. The magic man has hit back at the claims, saying that the 22-year-old former Miss Washington USA contestant was attempting “extortion for money, plain and simple”. According to papers filed in July, the model claims that she met Copperfield in January 2007 and that he invited her to his island where the alleged sexual assault took place. The documents say that “Copperfield … attacked and sexually assaulted her” and “threatened to kill her,” despite her attempts to fight him off, which left her “extremely traumatized.” But the magician’s lawyer says that the woman “has a history of lying … which continues in this lawsuit.” The accuser’s lawyer said that she was not able to discuss the case, which is still ongoing.
